I have heard from several of my closest friends that my blog is not very exciting! Could it be that it has been blank since I started it?
OK, here is some excitement!!! Tyler, Crystal, Lori, Bill and I went to Maui, Hawaii from January 30 to February 10, 2009. It is amazing there. We all feel that Hawaii is like a taste of Heaven on earth! We go there to see the Humpback Whales during calving season. They travel in "pods" of at least 3 whales. It consists of the mother, baby and a male escort. I got many pictures of them again this year.
Lori wanted to go on a smaller boat to whale watch and snorkel this year. We went on a trip in an 18 man boat/pontoon. It was incredible! We cruised from Maui to Lanai. We saw 3 ship wrecks, walked on the beach, snorkeled 3 times. The owner and the captain went snorkeling and brought up some special animals for us to see, hold and have photo ops with. We played with a live star fish, a snail in a conk shell, and an octopus. We saw a pod with about 200 dolphins in it, sea turtles, and whales. The whale surfaced about 15 feet from our boat. This was amazing! They are about 45 feet long. To hear them blow air out of their blow holes is unbelievable. They swam around us several times and even under out boat. We were gone for about 9 hours. The company is called the Ocean Riders. I will go out with them every time I am in Hawaii. They gave us a personal and wonderful day! I don't think I have ever had that much fun in my life.
Tyler rented an airplane and flew himself and Crystal around 4 or 5 of the islands. We have great pictures from the air that Crystal took. He would have taken all of us up with them, however, it would have cost around $2000 for 2 hours. Maybe next year!
We found a beach down from our hotel that we loved. We swam, played on the Boogie Boards and played cards!
Bill and Boyd rented Harley's and rode all over the island. I think they had a great time on the bikes!
