Lake Powell 2009!!!

Can you say FANTASTIC??? I went to Lake Powell with Angie and Lori on their House Boat for a week. What a great time we had. It was warm and so beautiful. I took a few pictures. Well, OK, I took quite a few pictures. Well, OK, I took 1064 pictures of Corbin. Oh, and I did take a few of Lake Powell!!! It was so fun!!! He is soo cute! We had a lot of fun with him.

We went with family and friends. The crew consisted of Lori, Angie, Layne, Corbin, Ron, Sonya, Kyle, Mary, Jay, Pat, Riki and her dad Roger.

The houseboat is 75 feet long with 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Many of us preferred to sleep on the 3rd level deck under the stars.

We had Lori's 25' Crownline (luxury liner :) ) boat to go site seeing in. We drove up to Rainbow Bridge and hiked back into it. The water level is down by about 75' again this year. Jay Green (at 75 years young) even hiked back to see it. The hike is about 2/3's of a mile. It was about 90 degrees outside. We were really proud of him!

We traveled up Escalante Canyon and Moki Canyons. They are incredible. It is like seeing the Grand Canyon on water. There were Indian Ruins, double arches, fingers in the rock and cliffs 200 feet high. This is us at port-a-potty on the lake!!!

We took a swim and here I am looking through the port holes in my life jacket! For some reason, unknown to me, I look just like Millie.

We had 3 Jet Skis to share. I am an excellent driver. We had so much fun riding them around our channel. There was a giant rock in the middle of the channel with a cave in the front of it. We could have taken the Jet Skis in - but we didn't dare!!!

We have many EXPERT Wake Boarders in our family. The photos will speak for themselves! This is Layne doing a flip!!!

And, here is Agnes catching some air!!!

Kyle drove Lori's boat quite often and proved he is a good 1st mate!!! He has some wild driving skills!

Thanks to Lori's fantastic stereo system, we were able to dance and jive to Daryl Hall and John Oats song "I Can't Go For That". Corbin showed us his mad dancing skills. We also learned that he has many other skills such as he is an expert in Tae Kwan Doe and rock throwing!!! Pretty good for a kid that is only 23 months old.

Lori, our Eagle Scout (or fire starter), provided us with a camp fire each night. We all sat by the fire and visited and talked about old times. We ate pies made out of bread, sugar, pie filling. and cooked on the flames. They are the best!

This was a wonderful vacation. I can't thank Lori and Angie enough for inviting me!!! What a great family to be a part of!!! "We had the times of our lives".

Some other fun shots!!!!
